Dilophosaurus is a species of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Jurassic period. It was one of the largest theropods of that time period. It was a bipedal, feathered carnivore with a long tail and a long, heavy skull. It is known from the Late Jurassic of Germany and the Early Jurassic of England.
It is estimated that there are around six different species of Dilophosaurus. All species of Dilophosaurus have long, heavy, and robust bodies. They are also relatively large, and their size is only increased by their massive heads. All species of Dilophosaurus are carnivorous, as they have long, sharp teeth that are adapted for eating other animals. Their jaws are constantly moving to feed on their prey.
Dilophosaurus has been discovered in Europe, Asia, North America, South America, and Australia. It is also known from the fossil record from the Triassic period.
Dilophosaurus is a part of the thero-pods family. Other species in this family include Allosaurus, Corythosaurus, Opalodactyl, and Camarasaurus. All of these are part of the same subfamily, the Corythosaurusinae.
